Spring into the magic!

Spring into the magic!

Visiting Walt Disney World at any time of the year is always fantastic. This spring in particular has caught my interest for several reasons and here are some of them…

1.) EPCOT – The Flower and Garden Festival

Whatโ€™s not to love about this festival! This happens to be my favorite of the festivals at EPCOT. The beauty of the park is enhnaced by all of colors around. The smell of the park is even better! I always look forward to seeing my favorite Disney character in flower form throughout the park, it is truly amazing how they do it.

2.) Low Crowds –

For years I would visit in the Fall and I always thought that was the time to go to beat the crowds. With the many discounts offered in the Fall, such as Free Dining, this has changed. More people are visiting because of these discounts and I think this is why the Spring crowds have died down.

Also, Toy Story Land is opening Summer of 2018, so I think a lot more people will be waiting to visit once this has opened. This may also cause crowds to lower in the Spring.

Olaf might think that your trip should always revolve โ€œIN SUMMERโ€ ๐Ÿ™‚

3.) Room Rates are lower –

While you may not get the best discount going in the Spring, you will get a room discount.

Value – 10%

Moderate – 15%

Deluxe – 20%

Deluxe Villas – 20%

4.) The Weather –

There is nothing quite like eating a Mickey Ice Cream Bar in the heat of the Summer at Walt Disney World and having it melt just seconds later. While there will be some heat in the spring, it will be nothing like the Summer months. Also, many people want to get out of the cold weather on there vacation and this would be the perfect time to go for that. Itโ€™s not too hot…not too cold…but just right!

Going to Walt Disney World in Spring 2018 would mean that you are going SOON! There is nothing like booking your trip and it is never too late!

Have a magical day!

A few small ways to let magic not break the bank!

A few small ways to let magic not break the bank!

Disney is pricey as many of you know! The prices always go up every year. There are some small ways to save on your Disney Trip ย though, making it more magical for the whole family.

The big ways to save money are –

  • getting a good discount (FREE DINING or ROOM DISCOUNT, choose which one depending on the size of your party.)
  • going at an off-peak time, the rooms will be cheaper.
  • stay at a value resort. THIS IS YOUR BEST OPTION FOR A CHEAP VACATION!!!!

Small savings that makes a huge difference –

  • Buy the packing essentials at the dollar store – toothbrushes, refillable water bottles, ponchos, and glow sticks.
  • If you have the Disney Debit or Credit Card, wait to spend at least $50 at the stores, so you can get your discount.
  • Buy the Disney Dining Plan, I think if you are there for over a week, it will be worth it. It also helps your create a better budget. **** Money saving TIP – use snacks to get breakfast – cinnamon rolls, bagels, breakfast sandwiches are all options.
  • Don’t get park hopper if you do not think you will use it.
  • Skip out on events that cost extra money (MNSSHP, Dessert Parties)
  • Buy Disney Giftcards at places like SAMS, BJ’S, COSTCO (will save you money and help you budget)
  • Be careful on how much you spend at the stores! The money goes by very quickly. Budget before hand.

Spending money at Disney goes by very quickly and is very easy. Be careful and set a good budget. It can be a cheap stay if you let it be.

Make the most out of it!!!

Making magical memories (even through the rain)

Making magical memories (even through the rain)

Here are some tips on how to make the most of your Disney World vacation, even if it is raining!

Every time I go to Disney, it rains. There will always be a rainy days. It drizzles, then it pours, and sometimes it rains so hard that you are worried they might lose Nemo again!

It might be like it is putting a damper on your vacation, but there are plenty of things to do even if it rains. Here are some fun ideas!

1.) Explore your resort – the one you are staying at or a different one. I always like to spend extra time checking out my resort when it rains, it feels like home. When it rains for a long period of time, I usually go and check out another resort too. Grand Floridian and Polynesian are some of my favorites to look around, especially because I do think I will ever get to stay there on my budget at this point ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2.) Eat at a fun restaurant experience – There is no rush when it rains. Go to a new restaurant, explore different options. Go to a character or fine dining experience. Make the most of it! Always order dessert โค

3.) Do the indoor stuff –

Ride the indoor rides and take advantage of shorter lines. Some people even line up for the outdoor lines that usually have a long wait.

Meet some characters. Talking Mickey, Tinker Bell, Princesses – so many to choose from!

4.) Shop – one of my favorite things to do at Disney! Explore new stores, new products. There is always some new and exciting thing when I am there. Every park has a lot of really neat stores!

5.) Watch a movie or take a nap!

Make the most out of your magical day! A rainy day at Disney World, is still a magical day!

Also here is a good tip – buy ponchos from the dollar store! They are just as good and a lot cheaper! Buy enough for the time of your vacation and throw them away each day! It is much easier to deal with and it saves you money.

How to make Fastpass actually go Fast!

How to make Fastpass actually go Fast!

Oh the days of paper fastpass…I miss you!

Fastpass is a little bit more complicated now and it is not just because you can only choose three at a time. You can go online, do all your research before your trip and you still might not pick the right rides to use fastpass for. Waiting in line is not the end of the world, but it not something that you want to waste your trip doing.

Here are 10 rides that will ALWAYS need fastpass!

1.) Peter Pans Flight

Almost has over an hour wait! It is actually my favorite ride at Disney World, there is just something so magical about it. I do not think you will want to miss it! If you do not have fastpass for it you may NEVER get to Neverland! ๐Ÿ˜‰

2.) Space Mountain

Big surprise, right? Yeah, this ride will forever be a long wait because it will always be one of the best! Make sure to grab you fastpasses for it because it is out of this world! ๐Ÿ˜‰

TIP – during early magic hours, right when the park opens, or during the fireworks, there may be a short(er) wait!

3.) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This ride is excellent and on the newer side so it will continue to have a really long wait. It has had two-three hour wait times almost every time I have been! This ride is even sometimes hard to get a fastpass for, so be sure to book it plenty of time in advance! Off to work you go! ๐Ÿ˜‰

TIP – Be sure to check your entire trip for fastpasses for this ride, every once in awhile there will be one available!

4.) Frozen Ever After

You will not want to let it go ๐Ÿ˜‰ This ride is new and so magical! We all know about the Frozen craze and it is only going to get more crazy! Be sure to get your fastpasses in advance for this one, they go fast!

5.) Haunted Mansion

You may be able to wait in this line for a reasonable time, but you never know! It changes so fast. When I was there for early morning magic hours, my husband and I rode it with no wait. By the time we had got off, it was a 45 minute wait and it only got higher. If this is a MUST DO for you, I would grab a fastpass! Unless, you are too scared! Ha!

6.) Toy Story Mania

Love this ride! It almost always has a really long wait, unless you get to the park early or stay late. I would highly recommend getting a fastpass for this ride, it is not one to miss!

It’s got a friend in me.

7.) Soarin

This wait times vary, but I would get a fastpass for it.

TIP – As soon as EPCOT opens – head to The Land and get straight in line for Soarin. There should be no line at all! Safe travels!

8.) Pandora Rides

These may not always have super long wait times, but they will for awhile.

Until… STAR WARS land comes ๐Ÿ˜‰

9.) Star Tours

This ride is inevitable! It has really long lines or surprisingly short lines. If you are like my family, you might want to ride it more than once, so I would recommend getting a fastpass!

TIP – OBI sure to ride this WAN in the morning or evening! Afternoon has heaviest lines.

10.) ย Any of the big rides –

Splash Mountain. Big Thunder Mountain, Rockin, Tower of Terror, Everest, Test Track.

TIP – Ride these rides as soon as park opens, during fireworks or evening shows, before closing – should be almost no wait or a really short wait!

Thanks for reading and tolerating all of my Disney puns! Hope this helps you get the most out of your fastpass!

Fantastmic – It is perfect. Don’t change it!

Fantastmic – It is perfect. Don’t change it!

Well, as many of you know, Hollywood Studios is getting a lot of changes these days. With the Great Movie Ride gone, Star Wars flooding the place, and with Toy Story land coming – there has just been a lot going on. Don’t get me wrong, I love the additions.

This past May was my very first time to see Fantasmic! I have been to Disney World so many times, but this was my first time and it was the best. I LOVED IT! It is a true Disney classic and it made my heart so happy! If you have yet so see, please SEE IT!

This Summer, Disneyland brought back Fantastmic and changed a lot about it. I watched the Facebook Live video of it and it was beautiful. It just was not as good as the classic show. The whole time I was just thinking, please do not change it at Disney World!

Updating the show with newer princesses is just not necessary. People know Snow White just as much as they know Rapunzel, if not more.

Most of the time, I do not care when Disney is going to change something to the parks, but this is one thing that I really hope they never change.

There are just somethings that need to stay classic Disney and this is one!

(Also, I love Steamboat Willy!) ๐Ÿ™‚

Why Disney food is also magical…

Here are some of my favorite restaurants and dining experiences at Disney World!!!

  1. Ohana – it does means family, but it also might mean delicious food! This food just keeps on comin’. It’s all served family style ๐Ÿ™‚ You start with an appetizer, which is great! Then the entree comes and WOW! The meat is amazing! After everything — BREAD PUDDING!!! Mmmmm best dessert at Disney World, even better than dole whip. (Located at the Polynesian Resort)

My husband ate more than his weight here, trust me and make a reservation ASAP! (You won’t be able to get in without a reservation booked far in advance.)

2. Be Our Guest โค

Well, Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie, so I might be biased. As far as character dining goes, this is my favorite! Beast is in a separate room (the library!!! :)) and you go visit him after you’re done eating. The food is also amazing with a lot of options. Try the cupcakes & oh of course, the grey stuff, it’s delicious!

3. Teppan Edo

This restaurant is located in the Japan pavilion at Epcot. It is hibachi style with a Disney twist! It is so much fun and the food is oh so good!!! The yum-yum sauce is yum yum yum yum! You must book this on your next trip, trust me! It’s soooooo good!

4. Whispering Canyon –

Located at the Wilderness Lodge, so you will have a beautiful view of that gorgeous lobby! This is good food, I mean good BBQ food! I recommend getting the family platter, so that you get a little taste of everything. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that you can get a milkshake at anytime during a meal (it counts as a drink on the dining plan) ย – which is fun for everyone! Also, ask for ketchup ๐Ÿ˜‰

5. La Hacienda de San Angel – located in the Mexico Pavillion at Epcot. This is the restaurant across from The Three Caballeros ride, not the restaurant the ride is in. This has a variety of options and has a unique atmosphere. It is authentic Mexican food, with many different option and flavors to choose from!

6. Lastly, but certainly not least – CHEF MICKEYS!

How could you not love this place? I know many people disagree with this, but Mickey Mouse is there and he wears a chef hat! I love being able to eat with the characters and the food is actually good. Mickey Mouse prepares all of it, so you better like it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, these are just a few of my favorites at WDW! I know many people disagree, but I do recommend and encourage getting the Disney Dining Plan! It makes the food more magical and makes the vacation feel more like a vacation! Go book your reservations guys ๐Ÿ™‚

Reach out and find your HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

Reach out and find your HAPPILY EVER AFTER!

My thoughts on HAPPILY EVER AFTER…

When Disney first announced that the nighttime show “Wishes” was cancelled, I was so sad. I did not think anything could get better. I visited the Magic Kingdom only a few short days after the premier of “Happily Ever After.” I had not heard much about it, but I knew (was hoping) that Disney would make it amazing!

They did, to say the least!!! This show is absolutely fantastic! If you have yet to see it, GO! I am such a nerd, but I get chills thinking about it! Not only do I love how this show incorporates old and new Disney movies, but I also love the important message in it. This show shares the truths of life. It reveals the hardships, trials, but also the joy of living! I love this show and it will forever hold a special place in my heart because the first time I saw it was on my honeymoon.

TIPS for watching – 1.) Stand up close, even if you have to stand 30 minutes to get a spot. I am really short, so I did not get to see half of it when I was standing from afar. Get up close, it is worth the wait!

2.) Go see the show twice on your trip! The first time you should watch the show on the castle, it is hard to take your eyes off of it. The second time, watch the fireworks! I could not do both at the same time…HA! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you get to see this nighttime spectacular soon and that you enjoy it as much as I did!
